a copywriting cowgirl

calling shotgun on your brand's wildest giddy up yet

In 2021 I moved from Denver back to my hometown in Wyoming. At the time I chalked up my departure to the pandemic plaguing the wedding industry. I wasn't wrong. But mostly I was afraid to admit that not only my old man's health was declining, but after years of establishing a successful career in the city as a stylist and editor of a bridal magazine all I was left with was wanting more.

So I packed up my stilettos & high tailed it back to the wild frontier.

Where I: moved in with my outlaw of a father (who always packed a gun and a smile to a steak dinner), landed a social media marketing gig with the local tourism board, bought a pair of boots, and spent my evenings rediscovering the backcountry (and researching what the hell a copywriter could do).

At first it felt like a step back from where I had been, when really it was something bigger intervening in ways that I could have never understood until now.

You see, the more I surrendered to the West that raised me, the more she wrapped her wide-open spaces around me. Held me when I needed her the most.

In March of 2022, I launched Lady Folk into the world. & a month later to the day my dad took off on his Harley to meet my mom in Heaven.

You know, I've never been much of a religious woman. But enduring the depths of the human experience while witnessing God's timing make miracles out of the mundane will turn you into the believing kind.

Over the last year or so, everything that I've ever known has been challenged, burnt and completely stripped to bone. It's been really fucking messy. Really fucking hard. & incredibly fucking beautiful.

& honestly, I am okay with how the dust settled.

Because the one constant that carried me through was love from my community.

& now I exist to help you deeply connect with yours.

I am elated to have you folks here with me as we transcend mundane messages into artful narratives that build community (& bank accounts) off the beaten path.

Let's make like Bonnie & Clyde and give 'em something to talk about, shall we?

xx Chelsea

I'm a poetic storyteller & brand strategist who believes our most memorable narratives are derived from moments when we choose to slow down & be present with the one's we love.

The one thing I adore more than waking up with a pencil in hand is fully taking advantage of precious time with my ride-or-dies. As a small business owner, I've found that it's less about dollar signs and more about arriving at a place where fulfillment meets freedom. That's why I pour my heart into guiding you through your content marketing, branding and copywriting efforts.  Because as founders what we really want is to run businesses that serve a greater purpose, but never at the expense of living out our wildest dreams with the people that makes our hearts pound out of our chests.

Currently into: girls gotta eat, finger guns, hot girl bikes, espresso martinis & leaving love notes everywhere

The truth is that entrepreneurship is and has always been bigger than us. & that's why, here at Lady Folk, we will never let you play it safe in the stories you tell.

As you expand in your fullest expression, we will encourage you to: drown out the shoulds, say, "To Hell!" with what's already been done, be more about cultivating community than followers, celebrate your competition, show up in an outfit that screams that you love yourself, implement bold fucking colors that disrupt the sea of neutral, set a schedule that works for YOU, stop apologizing for taking a break to reconnect, call out bad behavior, say what needs to be said & brand off the beaten path.

Because when you dare to walk the line to stir up change that can be deeply felt for generations to come, we're all better for it.

longing for a love letter

Dear Lady Folk,

As a writer I am constantly challenged to chase down the depths of endless beauty. More often than not, curiosity leads me to the edge & sets me free. To explore what I choose. To explore what chooses me. It's a wildly romantic way to move through the world if you ask me. & I live to share my findings with you in my Sunday newsletter - The Howdy. Roll down the window, let your fingers grace the western wind & come on home now.
